11:57 VR – review

1157 film11:57 is the kind of film you shouldn’t want to watch by yourself, with the lights off, when the rain pours outside and the wind rattles the window frames … as its BLOODY scary. Now we’re not generally afraid of most things but thanks to the guys at Sid Lee Collective 11:57 this film ratchets the immersive horror genre up a notch. It’s certainly one of the best horror VR apps films out there.

Although 11:57 has been available for over a year on the Oculus Rift its only just become available on IOS which opens it up to a much larger audience. In a nut-shell its a 360-degree horror movie filmed in a haunted basement where you are the protagonist so the action revolves around you. Expect slimy bricks, flickering lights and jumps galore.

The VR film is free to download. All you need is a VR headset and ideally decent headphones as the music score certainly adds to the atmosphere and anticipation of something happening to you. 11:57 is available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. It’s also available for download on Mac and Windows (check the Sid Lee site for more detail).
