Arizona Sunshine VR – review

arizona sunshineDescription
Winner of the ‘Best VR game of the year’ Arizona Sunshine is a must-play … especially if you’re into apocalyptic/ horror survival games. The premise is that you’ve got to survive other survivors in the parched desert landscape whilst countless zombies want to snack on your brain.

Playing Arizona Sunshine in 2D would have been fun but the fact you’re now thrown into an immersive and believable world thanks to VR takes the game to the next level. Reviews on STEAM have been full of praise for the game thanks in part to the strength of the games mechanics. You really do feel like you’re firing a gun and exploring the various locations (locomotion of your character comes via movement and teleportation). There are numerous weapons to choose from and get to grips with which certainly helps its longevity.

The games graphics and sound are spot on and the superb detailing of the environments (including the fact they are destructible) help create realism. In addition there are various game modes from the single game mode to joining forces in a co-op or multiplayer horde game.

This is certainly one of the best FPS VR games for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and we hope to see more great titles in 2017 by developers Vertigo games.
