Created with Unity this is one of the most polished strategy games we’ve seen in quite some time. Although some argue that TD style games don’t really need the immersive nature of virtual reality developers, TheMiddleGray, have designed it so the VR comes together as an experience as opposed to a gimmick.
Tower defence action for Vive
The action takes place in a virtual room where the map of your castle and its environment are laid out for you on a table in that room. As you can expect from most tower defence games you must establish and upgrade various defences in order that your castle isn’t taken over by the enemy. Thankfully there is decent variety with the enemy types each of which have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Once you kill an enemy you are awarded coins which you can then use to improve your defences. Overall you can upgrade your various defences three times to ensure maximum power. Along with the towers you’re also able to act like a giant within the game and you yourself can pick up and hurl fireballs at the oncoming foes or even teleport to the turret of the castle and throw boulders down!
If you check out the game trailer you’ll see that the graphics are fairly cartoony in their style but they work with the overall game mechanics. The sound is also great and helps keep the excitement.
Overall Castle Must Be Mine is obvious choice for any fan of strategy games and an absolute must for those into tower defence games.
