Child of Ault is a fantastic looking (and great playing) VR tower defense game by Hangzhou NezhaGames. You play as a boy who uses his magical toys to defend his kingdom from the marauding enemies.
The variety in defense options (or toys) is impressive and after each level you’re awarded with more options you can use. Along with the toys you are also capable of launching your own projectiles which have devastating effects on the enemy. Use the Vive’s motion controllers like a real bow and watch as the enemies cower. The enemies themselves are very varied in the style and have decent enough AI to make Child of Ault challenging. Waves get progressively harder and you’l have to use decent skills in making sure your defenses are up to scratch.
As you can see from the game trailer and screen shots the graphics are colourful and detailed and action is lively. Some people believe a tower defense game does not need to be in virtual reality … in some cases they don’t but in Child of Ault’s case the immersive nature of VR brings the action to life. A great strategy game for the HTC Vive that will keep you playing for hours.
