We enjoy taking down orcs … in fact we’ve played quite a few VR games where this low-life fantasy enemy meets their doom at our hands. So when we watched the trailer of ‘Deadly Hunter’ we thought it was just another orc killer game. Yes it is BUT, although not the most original, it does very, very well in its execution.
The premise behind Deadly Hunter is that as a hunter you have to go round various village strongholds, flush out the orcs and take them down with your bow and traps. However its not just a point and shoot game, no you’ll be ducking and diving from incoming spears and laying traps down to take down these ugly bastards. Traps are actually a great addition to your armory and there are a reported 100 different combinations.
Thankfully there is a decent variety in the types of orcs you get to take down. In fact there are ten different beasts from the crazy Beserkers to the powerful Shieldon. Each have their own special abilities that can make it harder to achieve the ultimate ‘head shot’. Along with single player you can play Deadly Hunter as a multi-player game.
Overall the graphics are great, in fact one of the prettiest, most detailed VR games we’ve seen this year. The soundtrack and effects are atmospheric and uplifting when required. The VR mechanics and performance are also stable with no noticeable issues. Deadly Hunter is certainly worth downloading and playing … did we also mention its FREE! Good work Leiting Interactive.
