Goosebumps VR – review

With virtual reality tech starting to achieve mass appeal (thanks to the likes of Cardboard) we’ve seen increasing numbers of films releasing a cheeky side-app to accompany the launch of a film. The new Goosebumps film starring Jack Black is no exception as they’ve just released ‘Goosebumps: Night of Scares’ for your smartphone.

goosebumps vrFor those unfamiliar with the massively successful Goosebumps books they have been a kids favourite focusing on horror and the supernatural. So, it was no surprise that the movie industry and CGI wanted to get involved. In latest movie that was just released a couple of kids get together to help round up a bunch of demonic monsters that have been released in the town of Greendale. The Goosebumps VR game is however rather different and bases itself on one of the original books.

MPC and Sony have joined up to develop the Goosebumps app and its a great visual treat. Jack Black provides the voice over in the app and there are a range of monsters that fans of the Goosebumps series will recognise. In essence you’re about to embark on a rather chilling game of hide and seek within R.L. Stine’s creepy house. Just don’t play it with the lights on!!
