To give it its proper name ‘Header Goal VR: Being Axel Rix’ puts you in the perspective of the failed footballer Axel Rix. In the past Axel was one of the most coveted sportsmen, playing for club and country. However following poor performances off and on pitch Rix is at the bottom of the barrel and struggling to regain his former glory … and this is when you step in.
A great VR header game
Thanks to some clever game mechanics and accurate physics based movement you get to play Alex Rix and help him get back to his former header glory days.
Similar to other header games (such as Hat Trick Header VR) you have to accurately header balls that appear flying over the goal net. Although it starts fairly easily levels soon become a lot more challenging and you’re tasked with destroying a bunch of different targets. The overall aim is to accumulate points (via the targets and combinations) and progress through the levels until Axel is back to his best.
If you check out the game trailer below you’ll see that the graphics are some of the best we’ve come across for a sports game. The action is fast paced and challenging and sound effects (including narrative) are spot on.
If you’ve ever wanted to step in the shoes of a footballer who is at his lowest but wants to be the best then Header Goal is a must have for all HTC Vive users. We’re also promised future episodes by developers Codemodeon and we can’t wait to see what they have in store.
