Yes, the rumors are indeed true, you’ll soon be able to stream certain Xbox One games to the Oculus Rift headset – BOOM! Fancied playing Forza or GOW4 in virtual reality? Well now you can!
As most know there has always been a partnership between Xbox and Oculus which was blatantly seen as an Xbox controller was shipped out with every Oculus Rift. However the latest announcement from Microsoft comes as great relief to all the Xbox One owners who (over the last month) have been looking on jealously at their PSVR rivals.
Play Xbox games in virtual reality
This new app entitled ‘Xbox One Streaming to Oculus Rift’ will be available from the 12th December. The streaming to the Oculus Rift headset will be via a home network; once connected the console’s output will be streamed to the Oculus Rift.
Once connected you’ll be able to chose one of three different VR screening rooms including Retreat. Citadel and Dome.
Thankfully as well as being able to play all the current games the app will also be backwards compatible and so you can play classics such as Black Ops and Mass Effect in VR!
We’re all super excited by this announcement and with Microsoft’s new VR headset reveal it looks like the VR tidal wave is just growing and growing.
Keep up with more VR news.
