The premise behind Raw Data is that you work for a hacker resistance movement ‘Syndik8’ who have been banded together to take down the sinister Eden Corp. Why they picking on poor old Eden Corp we hear you cry. Well first they are not poor by any means and secondly they are constantly building evil robot machines that certainly don’t take guidance from Mother Theresa.
Its your task in Raw Data to impregnate Eden Corp’s HQ, steal a load of data and try to get out alive however this isn’t going to be walk in the park. Thankfully you are armed with a bunch of kick ass weapons and techno powers in order to complete your objective and take down the enemy. This is no undercover mission, you’re going to be in the thick of the action!
One of the best VR games
Developers, Survios, have decided to use Active VR for this game resulting in an even more immersive experience. You need to use your body to perform tasks; twist your torso to slash through a group of robots or physically hurl grenades to give you some breathing space. The action is non-stop, fast paced and extremely fun.
You can play the game in single-player mode or alternatively team up with a buddy and together take down the robotic forces. At the beginning though you’ll need to choose your character from either a cyber ninja or gun cleric. Both have their own bespoke items/ powers so choose wisely. There’s also a great variation in the enemy from large charging robots to low flying drones and heavy rocket mechs.
As you can see Raw Data’s graphics and modelling are some of the best we’ve seen on the Vive (recommend you check the trailer below). The game runs very smoothly with very little lag to the action. The sound is also futuristic, pulsing and takes you right into the action.
If you haven’t already been sold then note that it was chosen as ‘Tom’s guide best VR game 2016’. ‘IGN Gamers Choice’ and was officially selected for E3 this year. If there’s ever an argument to invest in virtual reality then its games like these that will help win the battle.
So what you waiting for? Download Raw Data from STEAM today and go blow some heads off robots!
