One of the most highly reviewed VR games we’ve come across in quite a while (and one of the most awarded) SuperHot VR has certainly taken the FPS shooter sector by storm. So what’s it all about? Well yes its a shooter but the traditional rules have been ripped out so don’t expect conventional game play.
Objective is still to survive and take out the enemies but beware that there’s no extra health power ups or additional ammo drops. You need wits and quick reactions to take out your adversaries and then pick up their weapons like hammers and shotguns. Thankfully Superhot VR takes a Matrix twist in that bullets that do get fired at you appear in slow-mo so you can get out their way and you can then go for the head shot.
As the game has been built for virtual reality (originally for the Oculus Rift) the game mechanics are all native and intuitive to this form of game. Action is extremely fun\, frantic and ultimately satisfying. As you can see from the game trailer and screen shots the graphics from Superhot VR are polygonal in their appearance but this works perfects for the John Woo type antics you’ll go through during the various stages. The sound is also spot on and helps to heighten the fighting experience.
Some people have complained about the speed of which the game can be completed and also with the HTC Vive’s controller option however these are small gripes in the overall package. If you like your virtual reality action fast-paced and entertaining then its hard to fault Superhot VR. Download it today from STEAM.
