Raptor-Lab, developers of ‘The Art of Fight‘, say that Matrix and Avalone were very influential in the making of this fast-paced VR multiplayer shooter game. You can certainly see this through the games strong sci-fi story line and its similarity to the likes of Counterstrike.
So how does it work? Well each game you play is made up of 10 different two minute rounds and the winning team is the first to win 6. There are various objectives you and your team must accomplish such as carry a virus to infection zone whilst the opposing team must attempt to recover it. There are a bunch of weapons each player gets and after each round finishes players are given funds to buy more arms such as armor or grenades.
What’s unique with The Art of Fight is its locomotion method that has been developed. Players literally ‘grab’ the air ahead of them and then pull or push their body in the direction required, which helps to relieve any nausea that may be felt in this frantic action scenes; saying that though you don’t have to choose this system to move. The games graphics are pretty decent but its the game mechanic and action that makes it. Overall an impressive attempt to bring an immersive element to the world of FPS multiplayer games.
